YVR Art Foundation is pleased to announce that the Hauser & Wirth Institute in New York will be funding two Bill McLennan Masterpiece Study Program travel grants this year. Hauser & Wirth Institute (HWI) is a private foundation based in Brooklyn, NY dedicated to supporting innovation and equity in the field of artists’ archives.
Bill McLennan Masterpiece Study Program travel grants are for BC and Yukon First Nations visual artists to study/research Indigenous art collections at YVRAF museum partners around the world.
HWI will be funding one travel grant for artists, and one newly created Community Researcher travel grant, which is for a BC or Yukon First Nations artist or community member to travel to an international YVRAF museum partner to do art, archival and/or other cultural heritage research to support the assembly and sharing of community archives.
