A Study of the Old Haida Masters
Medium: Sterling Silver, Argillite, Abalone
Description: Sterling silver bentwood box, based on a piece by the legendary Charles Edenshaw. The technique used allows the four faces of the box to come from one long sheet of silver.
Artist statement: “I believe the duality of the mentor and apprentice is very important – the knowledge holder with a lifetime of experience, and the apprentice who doesn’t know what’s supposed to be “impossible” often break barriers, sometimes by simply bringing a different perspective to the craft.”
