“I create art to learn more about my identity and heritage, and connection to my ancestors. I enjoy the process of learning new media and creating new work. I hope to inspire others with my art, to learn about their heritage, and to learn about Coast Salish art and culture.
This Spring I have been really looking forward to berry picking, and I have been paying close attention to symbols of springtime. To people along the coast, when the frogs start singing is one of the major signals of spring. To me, frogs are a symbol of joy, transformation, connection to place, and spring. While salmonberry picking this year, I found myself surrounded by frogs.”
