Announcing the 2018 Masterpiece Study Travel Program Grant Recipients!

We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2018 YVR Art Foundation Masterpiece Study Travel Program Grants!

The Masterpiece Study Travel Program provides grants of up to $3,800 and is a unique opportunity for BC and Yukon Indigenous artists to travel to our partner museums to study collections of Indigenous art and artifacts.

Congratulations to the following grant recipients:

Marianne Nicolson (Kwakwaka’wakw / Dzawada’enuxw) will travel to Chicago to visit the Field Museum.

Albert Hans (Haida) will travel to Oxford, UK to visit The Pitt Rivers Museum.

Christian White (Haida) will travel to Gatineau to visit the Canadian Museum of History and New York to visit the American Museum of Natural History.

Phil Gray (Tsimshian) will travel to Gatineau to visit the Canadian Museum of History and Chicago to visit the Field Museum.

Amanda Hugon (Sto:lo) will travel to Vancouver to visit the Museum of Anthropology and Victoria to visit the Royal BC Museum.

Trevor Angus (Gitsxan) will travel to Victoria to visit the Royal BC Museum.

Kristen McKay (Tsimshian) will travel to Vancouver to visit the UBC Museum of Anthropology.

Kari Morgan (Nisga'a) will travel to Vancouver to visit the Museum of Anthropology and Victoria to visit the Royal BC Museum.
