Announcing the 2017 Masterpiece Study Program Travel Grant Recipients

We are pleased to announce that eight artists have been selected to receive the 2017 YVR Art Foundation Masterpiece Study Program travel/study grants.

The Masterpiece Study Program Travel Grants (up to $3,800) provide a unique opportunity for BC and Yukon First Nations artists to travel to our BC and international partner museums to study rare collections of First Nations art.

Congratulations to the following grant recipients:

Henry Arthur Green (Tsimshian) will travel to Vancouver to visit the UBC Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver.

Shoshannah Greene (Haida) will travel to Chicago to visit The Field Museum.

Lisa Hageman (Haida) will travel to Oxford, UK to visit the Pitt Rivers Museum.

Whitney Horne (Inland Tlingit) will travel to Vancouver to visit the Museum of Vancouver and the UBC Museum of Anthropology.

Tsema Igharas (Tahltan) will travel to Victoria to visit the Royal BC Museum.

Nakkita Trimble (Nisga’a/Tlingit) will travel to Victoria to visit the Royal BC Museum.

Sean Whonnock ('Namgis) will travel to Vancouver to visit the UBC Museum of Anthropology.

John Wilson (Haisla) will travel to Vancouver to visit the UBC Museum of Anthropology.
